All buyers will be held accountable for the information contained in this policy even if they have not read it.
Evaluating young rabbits is extremely difficult and not a precise science. This is why younger rabbits are priced more conservatively than older juniors. Proven seniors are priced accordingly, as they generally have show experience, proven breeding experience, and are fully developed, all of which increases their value.
We will not sell any rabbit showing outward signs of infection, sore hocks, snuffles or any other visible illness. We handle our rabbits on a daily basis and have aggressive culling due to temperament/attitude. Because they receive such attention, all of our rabbits have good temperament. We will not sell any animal that shows outward signs of aggression or biting. Rabbits can be unpredictable! We do not knowingly sell vicious animals. We will not be responsible in any way for injuries caused by the handling of our rabbits before or after the sale is complete. About Our Sales: This is a hobby, not an income source. We raise rabbits for the enjoyment and challenge of improving our breeds and not to make money. We are very flexible and understanding and always strive to be helpful and honest. Most buyers are wonderful and most transactions go smoothly. However, on rare occasions a "difficult buyer" emerges that also makes this policy necessary. Ages: We do not sell rabbit less than 8 weeks of age. We like to give our rabbits a couple weeks after weaning to adjust to single life. Checking over rabbits: We check every animal that we sell thoroughly for any disqualifications or other problems. We sincerely believe in being honest with this hobby. Selling a rabbit with a problem will reflect poorly upon us and of course we do not want that. However, we are human and may miss something so you are responsible to check over the rabbit as well. In addition, it is important to check the rabbit over so if something does occur later you will know it happened after the rabbit left our barn. If you need any help checking over the rabbit(s), please do not hesitate to ask. Feed: We feed a mixture of Manna Pro, Manno Sho, Farmers Showtime and Barbi Browns Conditioner. We provide a sample to new owners to allow an adjustment/transition time into the new home. You are responsible to gradually switch feed or acquire the same feed to prevent gastrointestinal upset of the rabbit. Health Guarantee: All rabbits are in good health at the time of the sale. If an animal becomes sick or dies within a 3 (three) day period we will replace or refund the animal at our discretion. We are not responsible for injuries that occur after the rabbit leaves our hands. If we feel the rabbit was in any way neglected we will not refund or replace the animal. You are responsible for paying to return the rabbit to our rabbitry and for any veterinary bills incurred, either on your end or ours. Name of Rabbit: All of our rabbits are named using Rhapsody as a prefix plus a name we have already chosen for the rabbit. Whatever name we have chosen must remain on the pedigree. It helps alleviate confusion in the event that multiple buyers were to use the same name. You may rename the rabbit whatever you would like for use as a personal name. Basically, you can call the rabbit by any name you could like, but you cannot change the formal name of the rabbit on the papers. Our Rights: Spots of Rhapsody Rabbitry and the owners have the right to decline a sale to anyone we so choose or cancel any pending sale for any reason. If you have made any payments and we choose to cancel the sale, any payments made will be refunded. Payment types: Cash or money orders. Pedigrees: All show or breeding stock rabbits will come with a pedigree. Pets will not come with a pedigree. All rabbits, show, breed or pet, will come with a tattoo in their left ear. Placing a rabbit on hold: If you are not able to pick up a rabbit within a few days of the inquiry, but are very sure you do want to buy it, we can hold the rabbit(s) for you for a short period of time with a deposit. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold rabbits for up to 2 weeks. The rabbit will not be considered on hold until the deposit is received. This deposit is applied to the total. The 50% deposit applies to each rabbit. For example, if you put a $50 deposit on two $50 rabbits and decide to only buy one, you still owe $25 on the one and will lose the $25 deposit on the other. This policy is intended to ensure we are only holding rabbits for people who truly are interested in buying them. The date and time for pickup must be prearranged prior to paying the deposit. Unless we have agreed to meet you at a specific show we are already attending, all rabbits must be picked up at a mutual meeting spot. If we are meeting at a show, the rabbit(s) must be picked up before noon on show day. If the rabbit(s) are entered in the show, we can make arrangements for a later pick-up. Returns: We want every buyer to be happy with their purchase. But please know that all sales are final. This just means you cannot buy a rabbit and then later change your mind and expect a us to take the rabbit back and refund your money. If you change your mind and no longer want a rabbit you have purchased from any breeder, the only thing you can do is sell it. While all sales are final, if you decide that owning a rabbit is not for you we will take the rabbit back cage space pending and time line pending. You will not be refunded money in such a case. I just do not want any of our rabbits to end up in a shelter or released into the wild. NO CASH REFUNDS, NO EXCEPTIONS! Senior qualities: If you are buying a junior we cannot guarantee senior weight or any other senior qualities. Proper diet, exercise and care should ensure the rabbit reaches all senior requirements. We will never sell a rabbit that we feel will not meet senior breed requirements. We will never sell you a rabbit out of parents that did not meet senior requirements. All of our breeding stock meets requirements to be registered with the ARBA. Sexing: We try our best to sex young juniors appropriately and correctly. However, we are human and make mistakes. You are ultimately responsible to make sure the rabbit is the sex you desire and correct before finalizing the sale. No returns for wrong sex, no exceptions! Shipping: We cannot ship rabbits at this time. Preferably, we will meet you at a show if we are already planning to attend. Stud service: We do not offer stud service. This prevents the spread of venereal diseases. Wait List: Rabbits are sold on a first come, first serve basis. We do contact those on the waiting list before placing the rabbits for sale on the website. If you have a special request for a specific color and/or sex, email us at <moandtwo@sbcglobal.net> and you will be put on a waiting list if we don’t have it in stock or available.
If the rabbit(s) being held are not picked up within two weeks (or by the agreed upon date) the deposit will be lost and the rabbits will be listed for sale again. If there is a serious emergency situation and you are not able to make it, please notify us as well in advance as possible or immediately afterwards, and we will provide the same courtesy. We still will not be able to hold the rabbit indefinitely, but we can work out something. We are very flexible and understanding.
Note: The 2 week holding period does not apply to situations such as the national convention or other like shows. In such a case, rabbits can often be placed on hold a month or more before convention and we will deliver rabbits to the show. This sometimes also applies to local and state shows as well that we know we are attending without a doubt. It all depends on cage space.
